We collect information you provide directly when you create an account, complete KYC verification, or contact our support team. This includes your full name, email address, phone number, BVN/NIN verification references, government-issued ID details, bank account information, and wallet addresses. We also automatically collect certain information when you use our Service, including transaction data (deposits, withdrawals, conversions, bill payments), device information (IP address, browser type, operating system), and usage data (pages visited, feature interactions).
We use your information to operate, maintain, and improve the Service; process transactions including crypto deposits, withdrawals, conversions, and bill payments; verify your identity for KYC and regulatory compliance; detect and prevent fraud, unauthorised transactions, and other illegal activities; communicate with you about your account, transactions, and updates to our policies; and comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations. We do not use your personal data for automated decision-making that produces legal effects concerning you without your explicit consent.
We process your personal data on the following legal bases: (a) Performance of a contract — processing necessary to provide the Service and fulfil our obligations under our Terms and Conditions; (b) Legal obligation — processing required to comply with applicable laws and regulations, including anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CTF) requirements; (c) Legitimate interests — processing for fraud prevention, network security, and service improvement, balanced against your rights and interests; (d) Consent — where we rely on your consent, you have the right to withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
We may share your personal data with: (a) Identity verification service providers for KYC checks; (b) Payment processing partners to facilitate fiat transactions; (c) Law enforcement, regulators, or government agencies where required by applicable law, court order, or regulatory directive. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties for their marketing purposes. All third-party service providers are contractually bound to process your data only for the purposes specified by us and in compliance with applicable data protection laws.
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active and for a period after account closure as required by applicable laws and regulations. KYC verification references are retained for at least five (5) years after account closure in compliance with AML/CFT regulations. Transaction records are retained for regulatory reporting purposes. When data is no longer required, we securely delete or anonymise it. Blockchain transaction data (wallet addresses, transaction hashes, amounts) exists permanently on the public blockchain and cannot be deleted by us.
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and, where applicable, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights: (a) Right to access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you; (b) Right to rectification — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data; (c) Right to erasure — request deletion of your personal data, subject to regulatory retention requirements; (d) Right to restrict processing — request limitation of how we use your data; (e) Right to data portability — request transfer of your data to another service provider; (f) Right to object — object to processing based on legitimate interests. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at compliance@qu1ckpay.com. We will respond to your request within the timeframe required by applicable law.
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
We use essential cookies and similar tracking technologies to ensure the proper functioning of the Service. These are necessary for authentication, session management, and security. We may also use analytics cookies to understand how you interact with the Service and improve user experience. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may affect the functionality of the Service. We do not use cookies for targeted advertising or third-party marketing purposes.
Your personal data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including where our service providers are located. Where such transfers occur, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent transfer mechanisms recognised under applicable data protection laws. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your data to countries that may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.
The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of eighteen (18). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child without verification of parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or operational needs. We will notify you of material changes through the Service, email, or other reasonable means at least fourteen (14) days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the updated policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
